SNAP Proxy

SNAP Proxy is a set of programs that can be kicked off by your existing backup application to automate the process of generating snapshots or mirrors, changing volume permissions, and mounting the volume to a backup server. SNAP Proxy features and benefits include:

    SNAP Back automates the process of mounting snapshots into a recovery directory to allow for quick, easy location and selection of files to be recovered. SNAP Back features and benefits include:

  • Supports any SAN that is a VSS Hardware Provider (Windows 2003     and later)

  • Automatic mounting of a VSS consistent snapshot

  • Coming soon for Linux and Unix SAN attached volumes (crash    consistent only)

  • Allows for multiple snapshot or mirrors to be mounted    simultaneously

    SNAP Copy

    Provides block-level copies of VSS snapshots from the current production server volume to a new SAN volume. This tool enables you to do faster, online migration of data from DAS to SAN or SAN to SAN while maintaining shares.
    SNAP Copy features and benefits include:

  • Faster copies from old storage to new

  • Initial copy of data requires NO downtime

  • File system attributes are maintained such as file share information

  • Can be used to migrate data to or from any DAS to SAN or SAN to SAN
  • Supports Windows 2003 or later


    SNAP Freeze for SQL

    SNAP Freeze uses Microsoft’s SQL VDI (Virtual Device Interface) to quiesce SQL, allowing snapshots to be created or mirrors to be paused or broken with SQL in a consistent state. The snapshot(s) or mirror(s) can then be connected to another server for backup, testing, or data mining. SNAP Freeze features and benefits include:

  • Use with SNAP Proxy (or other programs) to provide a consistent     image of SQL databases

  • Supports SQL 2000 SP3 or later on ANY version of Windows
